Vamos a trabajar en los proyectos culturales este jueves, el 2 de abril por 25 minutos en la clase. Recuerda que necesitas escribir las páginas que vas a incluir (include) en el libro grande. Puedes recibir correcciones en las oraciones completas (complete sentences) que tienes (that you have). Recuerda que necesitas usar vocabulario que tus compañeros entienden. Si (if) usas vocabulario que no sabes (that you don't know), necesitas escribir la palabra en inglés al fondo (bottom) de la página.

Upcoming Cultural Activities
Remember that one of the course requirements is to complete three hours of out of class activities in Spanish. Below are the activities that I mentioned in class that you can count toward your hours.

Come and enjoy a night of food, music, and entertainment. You will learn about and experience many exciting aspects of the latino culture.

Time? 6:00 - 11:30 (doors open at 5:30)
Cost? It is $8 for students
GLOBAL CONNECTIONS CONFERENCE: Charanga Tropical (band)
Charanga Tropical is a nine-piece orchestra featuring three violins, flute, and a sizzling Latin Rhythm section. Minneapolis Star calls the band a "pick to click" while the City Pages describes the group as "a musical and visual spectacle."

Time? Salsa dance lessons 5-6 and 6-7 and concert starts at 7:30
Cost? Free
Remember, it is not required that you attend these events, but it is a great opportunity to learn more about the latino culture. If you decide to attend one or both of these events for the experience itself, you are not required to write a reflection paper. However, if you choose to attend these events for your "Spanish activity hours", you will need to write a 2 paragraph reflection on the event about what you find interesting, unexpected, or something culturally different (please staple your ticket to your reflection).

I hope you are having a wonderful spring break. As far as the cultural project goes, I would like you to have researched your country and topic to get a better idea of what you are going to write on for class on Monday. We will be peer editing in class, so it is important that you write a minimum of 10-15 sentences that you would like to include in your book (the more you write, the more feedback you will receive). Feel free to post any questions, comments, or concerns. Enjoy the remainder of your break!
